These days, it’s all about that perfect picture, so we’ve got a few IG-worthy places you’ll want to hit up the next time you’re in Santa Clarita, CA!
If you’re feeling outdoorsy, head over to Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park in Agua Dulce (not too far from Santa Clarita). The park is open from sunrise to sunset, so you’ll be able to score some totally Instagrammable photos! There are no fees to enter so you won’t have to spend any money to get perfect shots. This place is the highest desert near Agua Dulce Springs and features acres of some amazing rock formation, Tataviam Indian sites, and a seasonal stream. These rocks are super famous and visitors from all across the world come to visit them, and it’s been used in various films, including The Flinstones, Star Trek, and Blazing Saddles.
William S. Hart Museum
This is the former retirement home of silent film actor and director of various hit Western flicks in the 1900s and it’s a beautiful Spanish Colonial Revival Style mansion that will look great as the backdrop for your IG photos! The home has been turned into a museum that features Western-themed artwork from noted artists like Frederic Remington, Charles M. Russell and Joe de Yong, as well as various Western mementos from early Hollywood, including personal effects and furnishings from classic Western movies. There are also various artifacts from various Native American cultures on display, providing you with a day’s visit to historical sites and amazing pictures! Next to the museum is the 1910 Ranch House that showcases Hart’s saddle and tack collection, as well as other Hollywood mementos to take pictures next to. Six Flags Magic Mountain
Score some great IG shots and have fun going on the rides at Six Flags Magic Mountain. The 262-arce theme park is located in the Valencia neighborhood of Santa Clarita. With 19 roller coasters, this theme park has the world record for the most roller coasters in a theme park, which is why more than 3 million visitors visit the park each year. Known for its fast and crazy coasters, a day at the park provides tons of thrills and photos of you having a blast with friends and family.
The gorgeous state water reservoir is just north of Santa Clarita up the Interstate 5 Freeway and provides visitors with fun! Placerita Canyon Nature Center
The canyon is the perfect place if you want photos with color to them, the Placerita Canyon Nature center is perfect! You’ll get lots of outdoor photos that will add character to your IG stream thanks to its cool, shaded oak woodlands, chaparral-covered slopes, and streams. There are eight trails that go for over 12 miles, providing you with exercise and beauty. It’s also the home of the infamous “Oak of the Golden Dream,” where gold was first discovered in California back in 1842. You can also make reservations for group camping and picnicking.
Old Town Newhall
The oldest part of Newhall is the most unique place in Santa Clarita to take photos! And it’s also where old meets new, with lots of shopping, dining and entertainment for visitors. Mentryville was an established in 1876 as and became an oil boom town. It is situated right next to the longest continually operating oil well in the world which closed in 1990 and used to be a home to over 100 families. There are still historical buildings that are standing and in the last couple decades, those buildings have been used in numerous movie productions. It’s truly a unique place to take photos and will definitely get your photos noticed.
